The Hartsdale Parking District will work with the Village of Edgemont on commuter permits

Great news!

We're very pleased that the HPPD is willing to work with a future Village of Edgemont to ensure that parking can remain the same for all commuters in Edgemont and in unincorporated Greenburgh on terms which are fair and equitable to everyone.

After all, the number of commuting residents around the Hartsdale Train Station itself isn't changing (nor do the economics) so there is a fair and equitable solution to be had. While the HPPD is reserving its rights to disagree with the EIC’s assumptions and conclusions (as it should), nowhere in its memo does it actually spell out where it disagrees with anything that the memo said. In fact, far from identifying any actual disagreement, the HPPD went out of its way to say that it does NOT intend to issue any memo of its own, because it didn’t think that dueling memos would be constructive.

The HPPD has just demonstrated how municipalities can plan to work together for the benefit of everyone, and we hope that the Town will follow their lead.

The politicians must doubt their chances in court and the election, so now they are changing the election law itself.
