Here They Go Again: Town Board To Discuss Another Resolution To Limit Edgemont’s Right To Decide Whether To Incorporate
Dear Edgemont Residents:
As you likely know, we have been busy gathering signatures on our third petition seeking an Edgemont-wide vote on whether Edgemont should incorporate into a village. Meanwhile, the Town of Greenburgh has been busy working to disenfranchise our community.
Tomorrow night, the Town Board once again is discussing a resolution to allow all residents of unincorporated Greenburgh to vote on whether Edgemont should incorporate. The resolution violates several laws, but the Town nevertheless tries this trick each time we have a petition. (You may recall the “Father’s Day Massacre” of 2017 when the Town Board discussed a similar resolution on Father’s day evening and passed it despite hundreds of Edgemont residents showing up in protest.)
Inevitably, the Town trips over itself, the law, and the facts. We expect the Town to disregard all such issues and pass this toothless resolution anyway. While we don’t believe it’s necessary to show up and take time away from your families—because we know from sad experience that it won’t make any difference—you might consider watching the Town Board operate either live or via recording.
